10- and 11-speed Dynasys compatibility

Is the cable pull of 10- and 11-speed Shimano MTB rear derailleurs compatible. i.e. Can I use a 10-speed XT Dynasys rear derailleur (which I already have) with 11-speed XT shifters to shift across an 11-speed cassette? I'm sure the official Shimano party line is that I will need the 11-speed RD as well, but is this really the case?

Shimano 10 speed MTB mechs have a actuation ratio of 1.2:1. The 11 speed is calculated to be 1.1:1. So it will not be perfect, more than likely the adjustment will go out as you get into the larger sprockets.0

Thanks. After posting my question, I found the following web page, which has the most complete table I've seen listing cable pull and actuation ratio for different speeds and manufacturers:

Based on the figures there, 10s RD with 11s shifter won't work, as the RD will move about 0.3mm too far per gear, which is about three times the amount that remains acceptable if you want to be able to change successfully right across the cassette.0 -
