Has anybody got any experience of/opinion on these?

Considering them as an upgrade for my Planet X London Road and they seem to have a lot going for them on paper...

  • They look interesting, particularly the weight. The reviews there aren't great mind.

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • I daresay they are a bit pricey, even at Wiggle price.
Novatec 771/772 hubs, generic stainless spokes and a rim which is similar in shape and function to a Pacenti CL 25, most likely made by SUN.
Should be able to get something like that around 200-250 from a Brand in today's market... for 300 you get similar specs built by someone with a face

That's interesting to know Ugo. I get platinum discount at Wiggle which makes them £308, but, as you're saying I could get something similar handbuilt for around that price then that's probably what I will look to do nearer the time.
I may PM you to discuss my options later in the year...

... I'm off the hook. I no longer live in London and I can now get to the end of the month with my salary only... hooray

  • Have been looking at handbuilt options (novatech/archetype etc), but looking around, I noticed that the V3 Kinesis CX Disc wheels could be had for £225 on Ribble at the moment. They have an extra 10% off everything til tomorrow, so I ordered a set. I'm aware of the observed shortcomings around seized alloy nipples etc, but at this price I decided it was worth the risk.

That's a decent wheel cracking price...I have 2 X pairs (unadventurous I know) but able to swap easily between CX tubeless tyres on one pair (converted rims) and large volume road tyres on the other, depending on what riding I'm doing. No issues with either wheelset....yet.
