Who organises a Sportive for Monday morning rush hour?

Last stretch of the journey into work today, coming up through Muswell Hill and there were hordes of cyclists with numbers on the front taking part in some kind of sportive - I honestly thought I'd made some horrendous mistake and come into work on a Sunday.
Anyone know what that was about? I did shout at a horde of them stopped at a roundabout asking what the event was and they just looked at each other as if they'd forgotten - one of them said something about London Edinburgh, but looking at a lot of them that would seem perhaps somewhat ambitious, and my google-fu appears weak and unable to shed light on the matter.

Perhaps they should do a few more to pay all of us back who lost our jobs due to the crash, which - if I recall correctly - was their f**king fault. Cnuts.
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -

their fault personally ? most of them will be office workers/low level managers....I cant imagine Fred Goodwin turning out on his bike!0 -
Ah this old chestnut. Was it banks giving out dodgy loans? Was it gullible people taking on unrealistic and stupid loans being offered? Was it weak systemic regulation?

Yes. Particularly the cleaners and other ancillary staff. Irresponsible fools. (I've calmed down a bit now).
