Recovering a discarded Garmin 810 ride?

Can it be done?
I hate the way it gives a discard/save screen when you press the timer, unlike the 800 where you had to press and hold the lap button to save a ride. Of course, the inevitable has happened and I've accidentally pressed discard on today's 50 miler. Is there any way of getting it back that anyone knows of?

No exact idea but hook it up to a PC and you can use a file manager on it like an external drive. Look for any files with the correct date on0

Tried that but there's only the next part of the ride I did. Very frustrating the way they do things with saving rides on the 810 compared to the 800. Guess I'll have to go and ride those hills again!0

Although I've just retrieved a .bak file from around the time I discarded if anyone knows if that can be used in any way?0

First thing I'd try is to creat a copy and remain it as a .fit file then see if it uploads.0
