Autumn is upon us. What rear tyre?

I bought my first ever bike with suspension in the spring which has a Nobby nic front and Racing Ralph rear.
Recently ( bar Panaracer XC pro's ) my previous tyre combo was Specialised Purgatory front and Spec The Captain rear but this was on a Ridgid bike.
I loved the Purgatory front but The Captain wasnt great and Basically I was waiting for it to wear out to find better.
I don't mind the Nobby nic on the new bike but the Racing Ralph seems to need to be pumped up too much not to deflect when cornering. There is also naff all grip on it and it's getting wetter.
What is a good tyre to sling on the back? Ideally something that will do me till spring or even just stay on.
Most rides are door to door around edge of Sheffield ( 30 % ish road ) with some proper Peak District stuff thrown in. size 27.5.

Sold. I really like the Purgatory on my Ridgid. For some reason I thought they were meant to go with something like a Ground Control up back OR go on the back with a Butcher up front.
I suppose the next question is: Would it be best to put the Nobby nic on the back and the Purg up front to put the tyre with best grip / handling up front?0 -
I like the ground control as a rear tyre on my hard tail due to the clearance issues that mean I cant use a large tyre.
Copes well with mud and rolls pretty fast on tarmac, the s works version wears out fast though so I just buy the normal folding version.
Yes put the grippy tyre on the front.0 -
got an HR2 2.4 on at the mo, if it gets wet/muddy I'll pop the barons back on0
