Shimano XTR M900 Upgrade

Hi guys,
The Shimano XTR M900 on my bike has broke and I'm looking to replace it. Should I get the same XTR M900 8 speed, this time used, or upgrade it. My budget is under £%0, and if it is an upgrade, I'd prefer it to be a XTR. If its not, it should at least be better than the M900 in performance/quality. The bike is a Zasker LE GT All Terra.
