Folks,

I recently bought a £2500 Carbon Bike, it went back to the shop for its 6 week ‘Safety Check’ where I reported a creaking noise
It’s been back twice with the same issue, both times worse than before its check.
I picked it up again last night, the creak has gone - a ‘FSA Compressor Adjuster’ has been fitted, the Bars and Stem are branded the same as the bike and its bugging me.

Am I being a bit anal?

Yep you're reading it right...

I wouldnt have spent all that money on a bike with a mix and match of Handlebars, Stem, Cap etc

Its a top cap, can you not use the old top cap and keep the FSA internals?

Edit... No you can't, its a fixed unit.

Yep you're reading it right...

the original giant headset was probably made by FSA anyway.
Just get a white paint pen available at good hardware stores, and a stencil, and write Giant on it.

Headsets are an area notorious for cost cutting. It sounds like you ve got a much better - and quieter - headset for free
