Bars - I've decided alloy is the way to go, weight saving to cost does not justify a carbon bar. I'm after recommendations circa 180-200grams should see a afurther 50grams
Lightest alloy bar is a KCNC SC Force, but it's got a long reach, long drop and an ergo bend:

If you're after a compact drop with shorter reach, look at something like the Deda Zero 100, the Ritchey WCS Evo Curve or 3T Ergonova Pro.
These are all in the 230-250g range though, you won't get 180-200 without going carbon. Use a bar with the right shape for you.Brakes - In 2 minds to install planet x cnc calipers (some reviews aren't great) -100grams
Use brakes that stop you, I mean, for the sake of 100 grams?0 -

On the other hand, that 100g means you won't be going down the hills quite as quickly, so you don't need brakes quite as good to avoid that sheer drop/wall/sheep?
But yes, seriously, if the brakes are not regarded as good stoppers (which may, or may not, be because they are tricky to set up?), then they really are not worth having. There must be light brakes out there that actually do the job they are meant to do.0 -
