GPS fix

I've recently bought a second hand O-Synce Navi2Coach. It was hard to get a GPS fix to start but once I did it locked on fairly quickly. Some how I managed to reset it and now I just can't get a fix. I get at most two bars on the signal meter but it won't lock on to any satellites at all. Wasted quite a bit of time standing round in the garden and nearby field giving it some time to fix. GPS is turned on.
Can anyone give me any advise ?
