Building a new bike

I'm looking to build a new steed. I have an idea as to groupset, wheels, pedals etc, but can't decide on a frame. Has anyone had problems with PlanetX? I have heard mixed things about their kit. I am undecided about what material to choose. In fact, I am open to either carbon or aluminium. I don't want anything too racy as I will not be competing on it. I will do sportives on it, but nothing more competitive than that.
What would you suggest? I was thinking of something similar to the Specialized Roubaix in terms of geometry...

Is that for the frame or the whole build.
As a pointer, have a look on Paul Milnes Ebay shop for frames. Have bought a couple of Genesis Equilibrium frames from them in the past and can't fault their service. One thing to remember - if you see a frame you like on their website, don't buy it through Ebay. Call them directly and they will usually knock a bit off the frame price or supply headset and/or bottom bracket for free.
