Shimano CX-70 cantis
I've got Shimano CX-70 canits on my tourer and find them really poor. I have to pull the levers really hard to get any brake power out of them - and that's in the dry! They're so bad, I'm thinking of selling the bike on to get a disc brakes.
My brake levers are Shimano 5700 105 STIs and here's how they're installed:
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob.

pretty sure these offer the same kind of braking as mountain bikes in the early nineties - not great!
can v brakes be fitted? (i know shimano don't recommend road levers with them but shimano say a lot of things are not compatible). if not, yes i'd go for (hydraulic) disc brakes instead0 -
or Tektro 926AL which are a lot cheaper.0

Tektros worth a go for £150 -
Have ordered a pair from planet x for £25. Failing that it's a new bike. I did like the look of last year's Croix de Fer, but what have they done to the 2016 models?!0
