Tour of Britain Stage3 Cockermouth/Floors Castle**SPOILERS**
Stage 2 result:
1. Petr Vakoc (EQS) 4h02'22"
2. Juan Jose Lobato (MOV) +7"
3. Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN) +9"
General Classification:
1. Petr Vakoc (EQS) 48h28'41"
2. Juan Jose Lobato (MOV) +11"
3. Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN) +15"
Cockermouth to Floors Castle
Pretty much everyone will be going for a sprinter today - it just looks perfectly teed up for them
After allowing a (brilliant) sole rider to timetrial to victory yesterday I don't think the sprinter's teams will give anyone any space today - but we will see.
We might not have the mahoosive climbs of Spain, Italy, and France - but we do have the coolest Roadbook art

aaaaaand we might have crosswinds in the first part of todays stage...
think the WT teams may wreak havoc and the domestic teams try to cling on for dear life0 -
There's a large area of high pressure sat bang over the UK at the moment, winds are very light so it's unlikely we'll get strong enough crosswinds to break up the race.0

I hope you're right but think you are wrong - even in central london the wind was pretty strong; I found I was doing 55kph at Blackfriers this am without even trying. So as I said I hope you are right and it was just power - but I think you are wrong and it was a pretty powerful tailwind.0 -
Six men off the front : Downing (CLT) Kruopis (SKT) Farrar (MTM) Cronshaw (MTG) McEvoy (NPC) Bialoblocki (ONE)
McEvoy is only a minute and a half down in the GC so Etixx are on the front chasing it down
5:46 with 88km to go0 -
Tell me that wind was an Easterly. Was hard work getting going this morning....0

So tempting to fib  - but yes I come into Westminster from Essex. Didn't really notice it till the underpass when I think it was being funnelled by the buildings
44.5km to go with gap of 3:42
Tyler Farrar, Matt Cronshaw and Marcin Bialoblocki are 30 secs off front of breakaway.0 -
30km with 4' - could be another close one as that gap isn't coming down all that quickly.
Bit of chat about the abbey took a slightly tense turn there! Awkward silence as they go to a break...0 -
15 kms, gap c.1'400

Stannard, Garmin & Lotto trying to close it down0

8 kms, less than 35 secs0

There were at least 2 crashes that broke up the chase pack in the last 20 kms. As Vakoc was caught in one of them it's possible Cav was caught behind.
But then let's not get reality get in the way of the opportunity to have a dig.... :shock:0 -
This has got to be the only race that doesn't have photos on steephill. I wonder why :roll:Contador is the Greatest0
