Hi guys just needed some advise really. I have a Cube 29er GTC SL which came with fox Ctd 32's 100mm which have been great but...... I had a freak crash a few months ago riding on a canal believe it or not . Basically my forks are bent and are in need of replacement and I am now bored of my road bike and need to get back out on the trails. The options are downgrade and get these http://www.merlincycles.com/rockshox-sektor-tk-soloair-poploc-29er-mtb-forks-57960.html#

kind of stay on the same level and get some Rockshox SID's online for about £320 (sale)
or go left field and try these? http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CEEQFjAAahUKEwjw3sDyheXHAhXMig0KHRfyAA0&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.merlincycles.com%2F2015-marzocchi-320-lr-offset-51-29er-fork-74042.html&usg=AFQjCNG82VE8s61Xtegb57hfJkW8vwI1nQ

Has anyone had any experience with these? The sektors are a bargain but I think I might regret the weight penalty? also had no experience with Marzocchi before but I believe they are out of business now?

Any help would be great

Cheers

I should add the 325 is the most I am willing to spend, so a new set of Fox is out of the question

The Sektors are a bit weak in the damping, but then so are the entry level SID's.

Does your bike use 51mm offset, I don't think it does, how much of an issue it would be I've no idea, also Mazza are going through a hiatus right now with the future in doubt if that effects your decision.

Also have a look at the Manitou R7.

Personally I'd be looking at some nearly new SID's with a good damper.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Marzocchi are still in business but looking for a buyer for the bicycle side of the business and closing the motorcycle side.
Spares availability will be guaranteed and warranties will be honoured.
Most of the spares (seals etc) are standard parts you can get from any bearing supplier.
I have a set of broken Marzocchi 350cr's which I ran for a week with no oil when a damper blew on the first day of my holiday. I'm rebuilding and modifying them as a 120mm 4x fork. They were a great fork and I guess I just got unlucky with the failure.

I'd go for the SID - even the base RL level gets motion control DNA with the rapid recovery system and high speed damping, considerably better than a TK Sektor but not as stiff. And better than your old Fox.
