Garmin 810 randomly turns itself off

Hi

My Garmin now no longer syncs with my iphone, having looked at various threads I see this is fairly common, but mine turns off if I try to Sync and at other random times, I have done the obvious things like turn power down off

Once it shuts down I cant turn it back on for a period of time, maybe 15mions

I was on 3.60, and tried a factory reset, now on 4.20 and its the same

I saw something about deleting rides, so I will do this now and try again

Any other thoughts

Had similar issues and thought it was the Virb causing the problems when paired. I'd get no linking with social media, Garmin Connect and Live Track, and often the screen would freeze leaving me with no option but to switch the device off and on again.

Seems the latest firmware update has caused problems for many. I still have v. 3.60 on mine and did a hard reset after deleting a few rides and courses. So far it has worked but I still get no link to social media despite activating it on the phone. I have charity rides I'm doing so the link to social media is required for that.

I think you have to link your Garmin account to Strava, Endomondo etc first, then allow them to post to FB, Twitter....

Yes and that was all done. It was working fine until a few months ago when the problems started. It all seemed to coincide with Garmin's tie in with Strava.
