Good interview, but God, his dad looks even more miserable now than he did back in the day!Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
Big breakthrough year next year - riders from the same system eg Bardet Latour Chevrier already showing much promise at that age - Bardet got 15th GC in the Tour at 22 ?!
Ovett's results seem 'modest' at the moment Chevrier for example got 3rd in the u-23 climbers race Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc at a similar age (and Formolo second) . Ovett unfortunately DNF'd both that race and Avenir - and didnt make the top 100 in the prologue of either - although he did say he had a throat infection?0 -
Cool. Good luck to him.0

Interesting interview with what sounds like a level headed guy. I always prefered Ovett to Coe, back in the day. Coe always seemed to have an agenda, no change there then, and while he was glad handing the media Ovett was signing autographs and chatting to the fans trackside. I spoke to Steve a couple of times when he was cycling in the borders, a realy nice guy. If his son has anywhere near the same talent he should go far in cycling, given the breaks.0
