La Vuelta '15 #13 Calatayud / Tarazona **SPOILERS**
Booo! Withdrawals yesterday. Never like to see a team leader - let alone a favourite have to retire hurt

Stage 13 Calatayud / Tarazona
Not exactly inspiring
The organisers go with their favourite route design of loopy.
It would be a long hard day in the saddle for me - but for these guys it is a prep day for some brutish stages coming in next few days.
11km climbing about 500m with no real kickers. Looks boring - saying that hopefully something might spark off to contradict all the nay-sayers. Unfo the part of the course most likely to cause trouble is the mad mad run in to the line - inrng has this great picture of 500m from the line
Luckily it is so close that the GC guys will be happy to be past 3km and won't be too fussed (although they won't want to be time-gapped) - but with a few leadout teams who haven't exactly demonstrated their consummate professionalism so far this tour (there was a picture posted in Pub Talk of HTC/Cav - now that was a well drilled squad.) I hope there isn't a pile-up

that picture is 500m from the line?????? potential carnage in the race to be in position before that.
I think if its not a break away stage it should be a good one. Even if it is a breakaway it should be good.0 -
That road does look quite narrow for a gallop finish should it occur... well at least the motos won't get the blame (or will they?)0

I've been to Calatayud before. Named after Ayub, who was the local Moorish leader, and there's a big Moorish fortress there. The only problem is, because all the buildings are manly sandstone, half the town is collapsing. I have never been anywhere that looks so much in danger of falling down.0

I just double checked inrng picture by following the route myself
this is the route in

And the DS denting the car door slapping on it to urge on the rider. I think he has it now unless the group really works together

2:51 is what he is now off the lead in the GC. He was 3:48 up on Aru on the day. He is now tenth - which might make a tiny difference for Team Europcar0 -
Just caught up with the highlights - Good day for my man Brambilla - jumped to 9th on the GC0
