You have to learn to love the rain and the wind.“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”

I live in Scotland and have done so on and off for 30 odd years and I am getting very fed up with it.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

nor i, though i would like to share a top tip...
in the current hot sunny conditons, one's pool can become a tad too warm for a refreshing dip, the solution is to leave the cover off overnight thus allowing evaporative and radiative cooling to occur, with clear night skies the later is especially effectivemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

'Latent heat of evaporisation'. In Oz, they dig a hole, bury the cans of beer under some newspaper, pour petrol on and set it alight: beer stone cold.
In Africa, we would wrap a can in two pairs of socks, douse it in petrol and the sun would evaporate the petrol really quickly; beer stone cold. Have not tried the Oz method, seems a but OTT.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
