Giro shoe sizing

Looking at some new shoes for the wife: she is a 41 in Fizik and a 42 in Pearl Izumi. Anyone any experience of how Giros size up compared to either of those makes?

Can't do a direct comparison with those makes, but I've been trying on some Giros recently (not those ones though) and reckon they come up a bit small. I'm size 42 in Specialized but would get 43 in Giros.

Echo that'; 44 in regular shoes & DZRs, but 45 in the Empire.
(Might have got away with 44.5, but none in stock.)
