One Italian team - two Italian riders

Seems incredible thinking back to the heady days of 2004/5 that there is only one registered WT Italian team and that they can only send two Italian riders to the Vuelta. Spain only fairs a bit better with one team and five Spanish riders.

I am a bit confused with the Spanish stats. Movistar and Caja Rural - Movistar are sticking with their Spanish Coleader and have 5 riders and Caja Rural are all but one Spanish.0 -

I am a bit confused with the Spanish stats. Movistar and Caja Rural - Movistar are sticking with their Spanish Coleader and have 5 riders and Caja Rural are all but one Spanish.

even though they top the leaderboard in 2012 - Italian companies seem to have lost confidence / or unable to form teams big enough for salaries required
