Ice cream head on humid days

Does anyone else get "ice cream head" - you know, that kind of numbing cold sensation that goes right through your head? - when cycling in 12+ deg C weather, but more humid conditions (70+%)?
Seems to have got worse since I bought a new helmet with better airflow and I've got fitter (averages are 18-21 mph).
Wearing a skull cap seems OTT above 10 deg C. Does anyone else know of a solution that won't lead to over-heating, which can be equally unpleasant?
thanks,
Andrew

You could try a lightweight Buff. Mops up the sweat quite well too.0

That reminds me - the other factor at play here is rapidly thinning hair and a receding hair line.0 -
Can I just state categorically that Donald Trump does not have this problem.0

Try blocking the front vents off with a bit of tape.0
