La Vuelta '15 #5 Rota / Alcalá de Guadaíra **SPOILERS**
Like yesterday but without the sharp kick at the end that gave us an interesting ten minutes. Short - 167km; there is another uphill finish but it is tame compared to yesterday. The last 750m climbs steadily about 50 m - enough to take the edge of a pure sprinters last dash; but we don't have any of those - seems perfect for Sagan, Degenkolb etc.
The stage profile is what I look for in an easy ride - not what I look for in a GT stage; but things will be looking very much upwards in a couple of days
From Google street view it seems that the organisers have managed to choose some pretty shoddy roads with nice pinch points in the run around Sevilla . Although Parca Maria Luisa (which if I can read their terrible map correctly the race passes on three of its sides) would be a fantastic place to watch from

Apart from two nasty nasty kickers stage 8 is pretty much all down hill

Lonely 20km for Ethiopian rider Tsgabu Grmay (LAM), but he's now been joined by Iljo Keisse (EQS) and Antoine Duchesne (EUC).0

They are good value and Chavez is a delight. Did you watch yesterday's Backstage Pass? Apparently he got given a small jersey but he needs an extra small, so he had to pin it in to fit...0 -

That 1 min per 10km thing must be true!0

In about 5 mins they will be in Seville which might be a little tight on silly roads - like yesterday they are routing them on slip roads, near train track etc. Scenery will be pretty good in central Seville - almost enough to wish for P&P and their potted history0

That's exactly what I thought.
Might be a boring stage - but by god I wish I was there rather than in grey London0 -
Keisse is off front with about 40 seconds with 11 km to go. Unfo peleton is moving very quickly on some good wide roads.0

Caleb Ewan - what great set up by OGE0

Woah! Big one for Caleb and OGE! Great work... welcome to the big time little fella...
As I said before OGE turning into real first week of a GT specialists.
Hope Chavez keeps GC lead as well...0 -

Bugger, Dumoulin takes the jersey by 1 sec...0 -
Great win for OGE!0
-
Split in main bunch spoiled otherwise perfect day for OGE - 2 seconds gap for first bunch and 8 for rest. Tom Du in first bunch but Chavez behind break. Quintana in third group as well - Froome and Malka only GCers in second group; so they gained a (measly) 6 secs on other contenders.0

No not bugger. Great news.0 -
Oh Caleb you little rascal.Contador is the Greatest0

First stage I've managed to catch since Sunday and it couldn't have been more dull but excellent work by OGE and delivered by Caleb who was confident enough to predict his win. Giant looked very disorganised as did Tinkoff leaving their men without support a long way out for a slope like that.0

We might have just witnessed the first big win by the next sprint superstars! Will be interesting to see what he can do against the established big hitters.0
