Advice on Crankset

Hello everyone, newbie here with first post,

Currently building my first road bike after taking up cycling at the start of the year.

I've bought a frame and with it I recieved some shimano sora shifters and front and rear derailleurs, my problem is that this is a triple and i'd prefer to use a compact.

Is it possible to keep the shifters and just fit a compact? and if so how.

    yes, you'll only use 2 or the 3 clicks on the front shifter and be unaware theres a 3rd when setup.

    follow normal gear setup on park tools website
