Cyclocross ~£650

Hi,
Started looking a while ago for a bike and I settled on the idea of getting a cyclocross - live by woods, bridle paths and will in the near future need to use it for a daily road commute. However, after while I couldn't make my mind up and never made a purchase.
I noticed today that the Boardman CX Team Bike has some significant reductions on it taking it down to £590. Once I factor in British Cycling and voucher discounts, it's sub £480, which on paper sounds like a bargain.
My work only run the Cyclescheme, which is most shops excluding Halfords which means I could stretch to the £650 mark elsewhere. Unfortunately, I only have Halfords or independents, who don't really stock cyclocross, near me.
Are there any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance

The Independent cycle shops should be able to order in CX bikes for the brands they stock, for you if you are serious about buying. What makes of bike have you looked at previously?0

Can you still use the BC 10% discount off the sale price? So essentially £530?0

Yes, but you need to order online and reserve for collection in store then pay when you go and collect the bike, or go into the store and purchase.0 -

That's my problem in person very little, the independents only stock higher end stuff out of my price range.
Halfords are my only option for try before I buy.0 -

yes in store, staff can be funny about it but it's within the t&cs.
From the BC site "Members and official Fans of British Cycling can get 10% off everything in-store at Halfords, including sale items.*"0
