hi

Will my current front mech 3 speed in an 8 speed set up work with a 10 speed rear set up and 10 speed chain?

thanks

Probably not, the ten speed chain is narrower and so the mech cage is narrower to suite, you can get away with 1 speed difference but the setup can be fiddly, I suspect you won't get away with 2.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

try it, worst case you get a new 10 speed mech
