DT Swiss 240s front hub (Disc) QR to thru bolt conversion

Hi - has anyone converted their DT Swiss front 240s disc hub from quick release to thru bolt? I have purchased the conversion kit and the thru bolt assuming that all I had to do was to replace the QR end caps with the thru bolt end caps.

Removing the end cap on the non disc side was very easy but was not able to remove the end cap on the disc side (will have to use something else besides a standard pliers).

The main problem I encountered was once I removed the end cap on the non disc side was that the thru bolt end cap did not fit because of the axle. I am just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and how they were able to complete their thru bolt conversion.

I have sent a note to DT Swiss today but have not received a response yet.

Very much appreciate any assistance as I am not mechanically proficient and have limited tools.

One of the front hubs can't be converted at all. You need to knock the axle out, drift from the exposed end you now have.

That is disappointing as that was one of the reasons i selected the 240s as it was supposedly convertible

There is a convertible one and a QR specific one. You'll need to knock the axle out anyway - if the 15mm one fits it's the convertible one!
