Hi
after a late night accidental ebay purchase I have ended up with a defy frameset. I am pretty sure from looking at pictures that it is the 2013 model.
Does anyone know what size headset it needs?
also, does anyone know of a way of blocking certain website between certain times of the day? would really cut down on my random ebay purchases!

You need a Giant OverDrive Headset 1 1/8" top 1 1/4" bottom which is made by FSA.

Not sure, but I would have thought so long as it is designed to fit a tapered steerer tube and matches the internal head tube and fork crown dimensions then I don't see why not. Giant call it Overdrive, however as I said it is made by FSA.
You could try this

Yes I think that is the one you need. If you have a vernier caliper you can measure your fork steerer and head tube I.D. to confim.0 -
excellent, thanks for your help!
I dont have any way to measure it but for £15 i think i'll give it a punt (famous last words!!)www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Your welcome, Chris, can you post again when your get the headset and confirm whether or not it is the correct one, as I think it would be useful info. for other owners, I should get one as a spare at that price. Thanks in advance.0

yeah, sure will do! I have just ordered it so should have it early next week.
if you happen to know the seat post size off the top of your head that would be useful too (don't worry if it isn't easily to hand, you have already been a great help!)www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
The O.E. Giant seatpost is 30.9mm dia. x 375mm long.0

the bearing seem to fit but they top one sits a bit too far down in the frame so the top cap hits the frame before the bearing race, will try putting a spacer under the top cap to see if that sorts it.
30.9 seatposts are a pain in the 4rse to find!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Does the headset contain the compression ring and shim washer?

Yes odd size to choose for a seatpost, though on the newer bikes you can only use their D shaped seatpost.0 -
yeah, it had all the bits but the compression ring sits lower than the frame so the top cap hits the frame so if you were to tension the bolt it wouldn't be able to turn, I think a 2mm spacer under the top cap should do the trickwww.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

F.Y.I. Ritchey make 30.9mm dia. seatposts. http://ritcheylogic.com/road/seatposts.html0

cool thanks.
the spacer seems to do the trick, just put a headset spacer between the top cap and the compression ring and it works like a charm :-)www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0
