Any ideas where I can buy a shim to fit a 1 1/4" stem to a 1 1/8" steer?

Nope, but could "repurpose" an 1 1/8" to 1" shim.... Or buy the right sized stem of course.0

I bought one from a Giant store, it's a part that comes with some of their stems which you can buy separately.0 -

Yep agreed. New stem probably the way to go. Just trying to use up a few 'stock' items for a Winter Hack build.

I bought one from a Giant store, it's a part that comes with some of their stems which you can buy separately.

Out of interest how much did you pay Elfed?
It was about £10 - £12 with postage I think, got it through the Giant store in Liverpool, very helpful guy helped me out.0 -
