Hi all
My friend is looking to buy a full suspension bike for under £1000.
It needs to be new as it might have to go on finance.
We ride in the forest and across the downs. Small jumps nothing silly.
Has anyone got any recommendations??
I was thinking the gt verb but if anyone knows anything else worth looking at that would be great.
Thanks chris

Here you go, plenty of decent options from £799 up.

Kona Precept, pretty respected brand but I've never ridden one personally.

Decathlon have dropped their decent FS.
Boardman FS is well worth a look for that usage, also a look at pauls cycles to see what is on offer.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Calibre Bossnut has had some decent reviews too.

You can get 10% off at Halfords if you join British Cycling...

You can use this in conjunction with Quidco and buying gift vouchers which will really drive the cost of the Boardman Team FS down. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Thanks guys I'll send him a like to this page.
We did find this today http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s183p5826/GIANT-Stance-27-5-2-2015
Anyone know much about these?0 -

I'd personally wait a bit to see what buyers and a few more reviewers think of the calibre bossnut.
Some say, allegedly, and it's just speculation on their part of course, that a shed load of chain reaction's guys went over to go outdoors and are flexing their marketing muscles...
The vitus and halfords bikes always get great reviews on bikradar. But that's different I'm sure.0 -
That Stance is a very good bike.
Have you tried it? I'm wondering how that rear suspension works out compared to maestro.
Here's another option from ze germans, and Merida make frames for almost everyone

Not as good as Maestro but still very good and progressive with no noticeable flex.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
