Hi all,
I'm off to Aberfoyle next week for work but I have the day on Tuesday where I could go for a longer ride. Last year I went from Loch Ard up Duke's Pass and round Loch Katrine in a loop - this was 30 miles or so. Just wondered if anyone can recommend a quiet and fairly hilly 50-60 mile circular route in this area? I will be staying at Macdonald Forest Hill Hotel and Spa...

This is the perfect sixty miler and you can do it either direction, starting or finishing with the Dukes pass. Also, has the Crow Road in it which is a great climb and the hill through Kippen. I would do it starting with the Dukes Pass myself.0 -

Can i recommend Liz McGregor's Coffee & Cake shop in Aberfoyle main street - All the cyclists stop there for a re-fuel.0

IMO the wee blether cafe cannot be beaten in that area...0

Did the route on Tuesday. It is a lovely route. The climb up Crow Road was not the most pleasant. Not steep but long and draggy with a strong headwind to contend with!0

What side did you come at it from? There are definitely some steep bits from the Fintry side. I feared the Crow road climb for a long time when I started cycling.
If you are up again, you should try the Tak Me Doon climb from Kilysth, another 10 miles along from Lennoxtown, not as long but alot of steep bits.0
