We've all seen a some strange offers around, but this for me takes the biscuit
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/ZX148BFFAGFCF/buy-a-fireline-frame-and-get-a-free-carbon-frame?utm_source=The+Planet+X+and+On-One+Mailing+List&utm_campaign=c1f15535eb-180815&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_561486488b-c1f15535eb-272695777&mc_cid=c1f15535eb&mc_eid=c0a4e5df20
So buy an MTB frame and get either another MTB or a road frame free, who honestly is likley to want to buy 2 frames at the same time?

Why not? not just limited to mtb frames, you can purchase an als cyclocross frame. It's nice that the option/deal is there, no doubt if no one goes for it PX won't offer it again in the future. But fair play for offering something different0

I guess it could be part of a long term plan. Get two frames and slowly build the second one up after building the first up as you want.
Would make more sense to offer certain components in line with the frame... But I guess they can be very much personal taste.0 -
Or see if someone you know is also in the market..halfers!!2009 - Boardman Pro '09 HT MTB
2013 - Cannondale F29 1 '13
2017 - Haibike Freed 7.5 carbon HT + full Hope parts (no..not an e-bike)0 -

Yeah, I'd guess if you're spending that much on a frame you've got a pretty specific idea of what you're looking for, and a choice of a few other frames as a freebie may very well not fit your criteria.0

i almost fell for it but a mate pointed out that the frame on its own is £500 so the other frame is not free at all???0

I must say I thought they may have been thinking they'd shift more components to go with the second frames, so a win/win for them.0 -

It's their own brand now, they can't artificially inflate RRPs. I suspect there'd be a dim view taken if it was £500 yesterday and it's now £800 with a 'free' frame, but now it's £800 whether you have another free frame or not.
Don't get why folk think it's odd. If you don't want it just flog it. Seems very generous at face value, and we're talking about it, which is the point.0 -

Correct, cheaper has the RS Monarch & the more expensive has CCDB air.0
