I rented a carbon Domane from these guys €40 for a day. Right a start of the climb from Bedoin if you need to source separate from accommodation. Make sure you ride the gorge de nesque on one of your days, makes a nice round trip if you descend to Sault. Absolutely stunning scenery.Bianchi Infinito CV

We stayed here in 2013;

it's just outside Bedoin and is fine for cyclists. It's run by a really nice English lady and her French hubby.
You can see Ventoux while your relaxing in the outdoor pool 8)
We went by train from London to Avignon with our bikes, the owner kindly picked us up from the station.0 -
If you are on a tight budget then you can camp for about £13 per day for two people.

Also taking your own bike can be cheaper £70 return carriage if you fly with a low cost airline. I've flown to Avignon (40 Km) Flybe and ridden the there.
There is also a train (7 euros each way) from Avignon to Carpentras which it 15 km away. And a bus Carpentra to Bedoin

Loads of accommodation available. Even if you turned up on spec, then tried the Tourist Office.
Consider Malaucene or Vaison la Romaine as a base too. Best bike hire options by far are in Malaucene
