Trek 7.2 to Tifosi ck6 forte disc

Hi,
I am looking for a little guidance as I'm wondering whether to side move to a Tifosi CK6 cyclocross from a trek 7.2 which has intermediate / treaded type road tyres.
Its only really to be used on cyclepaths and the road, for commuting a bit quicker than I can presently but also to build some fitness on slightly longer rides too.
Is it a worthwhile update or not worth bothering?
