Hi all, new to the forum and MTB in general and going through the 'buying a bike' struggle
Got an upper limit of £700.
Considering..
Cube Attention 29 2015 (Seen a topic about this bike, naff front shox? Will a beginner notice this)
Trek-X Calibre 8
Cannondale Trail 3
All roughly £600-£700.
My mate bought a Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 2014 for £1000 down from £1400 in February. He has just upgraded to full suspension and only rode this bike 4/5 times.
He has offered it me for £600. Is this a good deal? Good bike? I need to try it has i am 6ft 2 and he is a bit smaller than me so the frame maybe a bit on the small side.
What do you guys think?

I believe it has a Manitou Marvel fork (not a shock at the front) which is not at all a bad fork, though maybe a bit underwhelming on that bike at full price where you'd expect the slightly better R7 (mostly lighter weight - and that only about 130g), but there isn't really that much between them.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I'd take a look at the Voodoo Bizango. Was out on a ride with a mate who has one ( I just got a Cannondale Flash).
Absolutely outstanding bit of kit for the money, and a great looking thing too. Think he said it was £600 but worth checking out. Was really impressed with it, and I believe it won hardtail of the year at that pricepoint too.2009 - Boardman Pro '09 HT MTB

2017 - Haibike Freed 7.5 carbon HT + full Hope parts (no..not an e-bike)0 -

For £600 the Pro is better than a new Bizango! Will be worth a lot more in a years time as well.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Absolutely! It was just a suggestion if the frame was actually too small for him and was in the budget
