My friend did similar a couple of weeks back except he went more front on pinning his glasses into his face, black eye from those lovely bruise on his head an a broken elbow.

Armour or even a small pack would have helped reduce those cuts to the back. I ride with an EVOC pack with a spine protector in it, ive bailed a couple of times an it works pretty well.

Without debating the merits of helmets, and I wear one for 'proper' riding, I still hate people who preach.
And Australians.

I won't mention the rugby.

Don't wear a helmet, they kill more people than they save. Just like seat belts. Thats what an American told me anyway.
