Bent Steerer

I've bent the steerer tube (Giant Escape 0, carbon forks) in a high-speed crash. Should I go to my local forge to have it straightened or is the prognosis worse?

You cannot straigten hardened aluminium alloy.
EOL.....

I'd be worried about the head tube too if you crashed hard enough to do that.

At the least you need a new fork.

After applying heat the alloy has to be hardened again.
Not workable as the steerer is part of a construction with carbon.

Well, I've attempted to get a replacement from three different suppliers - still waiting - one of them says Giant aren't the quickest to respond! :evil:

Doesn't have to be a small fork either - standard size would be best
