I recently purchased a new Moma E Bike 20 (Electric) its a Spanish bike and the quality is excellent.
Confused on one thing, the handbook says that you must only use middle gear for the first 20 hours for running in purposes, The gearing is Shimano TY-18 7-speed derailleur.
I have never heard of having to run a derailleur in ??
Can anyone shed any light on this.

More likely to do with the electric motor.

Exactly. You aren't running your derailleur in. You are running your electric motor in.

Have you had many electric bikes before ?
  • Hello cougie, no its my first, but its seems to make sense, I got sidetracked into the derailleur, because of the way they worded it. Being a Spanish bike I had to translate the manual using google, so I expect that caused confusion as well.
Thanks for educating me, I'm 68 years old and still learning Ha Ha
