Bar tape material question?

I have a random question about standard bar tape you get from a bike shop. I had my bar tape changed due to wear n tear and was wondering what mateial is usually in it as I seem to be getting a reaction to it on my right hand.

    Bar tapes are available in a few different materials, so try one that is made of something different to what you have and chances are extremely high you'll be fine if you are getting a reaction to the one you have. What make/model bar tape are you using at the moment?

    Could be cork or plastic ? Why just your right hand ?

    Can you wear bike mitts ? You should wear them really.
