Thanks - I did a search for "Paris" and didn't see that one (it was a lot further back than yesterday!)Cannondale CAADX Tiagra 2017

I hope it does not become legal here.
It would cause so much confusion and just fuel the boring tirades aimed at cyclists from the ignorant car drivers.0 -
Interestingly, I had a chat about it this morning with a copper that stopped me for left turn RLJ at Kew bridge and onto the A 315... never been stopped by a Police car with siren before... quite exciting...
I bored him to death about all the motorists I see entering the box, talking at the phone, speeding and the Police doing nothing about it... he left overwhelmed...left the forum March 20230 -

just a telling-off, or did he give you a punishment?
Just a telling off... he made it clear he was not a traffic enforcement officer... he probably regretted stopping me, when faced with a barrage of stories about naughty motorists...left the forum March 20230 -
What a cop (ahem) out, he still could have taken action had he been ar5ed!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Of course... although I would have just produced Veronese68 ID if asked... it's always a bit difficult for them to actually fine you, as bikes don't have number plates and they rely on you providing ID... it's not even compulsory to carry ID with you, so all you have to do is say you don't have ID with you and lie...left the forum March 20230 -

Blame an innocent party and lie.....Pretty much playing to your strengths there then eh ?0 -

Don't know what you're on about... it was a tongue in cheek conversation, which you should have guessed by the profusion of smileys
if you have a problem, just state it clearly, otherwise steer clear...left the forum March 20230 -

Hey a tongue in cheek post elicited a tongue in cheek reply..... Why so tetchy ? Surely smiley faces aren't necessary to indicate tone to the sophisticated reader , where'd that wacky sense of humour go all of sudden ? Seems nothing's "obvious" after all. Or maybe I inadvertently touched a nerve.... Instead of continuing in the same vein seem very defensive....Strange .0 -

Hang on, I wasn't even there at the time.
Having just got back from the US where turning right on a red light is legal in a car I must say it makes sense, but feels very odd.0 -
I can understand it in Paris. There traffic lights go red every 10-20 seconds, for short periods of time and they seem to have them of every single junction, everywhere.
I have got to have been stopped well over 100 times in 10-15 miles on a ride into Paris.0 -
I'm going to lock this thread and let it die so we don't have 2 threads on the same subject continuing.0
