OK, so not another near middle aged no good Roady, MAMIL trying out his luck on the MTB side....
Sorry guys, but that's it in a nut shell.
My budget is small, £500-£650
I will be using it mostly in the winter, but may also enjoy it enough to spend some time on it in Summer, Cross Country Trails and family riding, the boy will want to start going out more soon enough and I need to be ready.
I am currently looking at these 3,

I have a Specialized LBS not far from me where I got my Road Bike is the Specialized Roubaix Sport in the same colour.

Pedal On also not far from me, do all my servicing, great shop and nice bunch.

I have used Bike Discount before and are good on price. This I thought was a great deal at £490 including Postage.
I think I have a good choice for the money, you may say different. Any help would be appreciated.

All are pretty rubbish for the price. You will get a much better bike from Decathlon or Halfords.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I would go for Bizango or Rockrider or Radon 7.0 or maybe this:

or this:

For the money I think this is hard to beat, available in 18" or 20":

Got good reviews at it's original price, at £400 (including buying a discount card) it's amazing value0 -

Prefer the Blk version and price looks better:)
