Impossible to remove tyre...

O.K. what and I doing wrong? Is there a secret that I'm missing?
I need to replace the valve on my rear tubeless Ardent Race (on SuperStar Carbon AM rim) and I just can't get the damn tyre off! I've almost broken both thumbs in my attempt. I can't even get the bead of the tyre away from the rim to stand a chance of getting a lever under it. The annoying thing is, two days ago I managed to get the tyre away from the rim so that I could fettle the valve, but it turns out that fettling the vale was not enough and it's going to have to be replace and, bugger me, now I can't get the tyre off again.
Anybody got any tricks for getting a stubborn tyre off. Even just getting the bead away from the rim would be a start.
Thanks.

Blimey, did you mistake the Stans solution and replace it with super glue !!
Last time I had a bloody tight tyre to remove I first tried lying the rim on the floor, obviously protecting the hub then standing on the tyre - it helps to be wearing trainers at this point. Alternatively try getting hold of the tyre with a pair of adjustable pliers/mole wrench and pull it from side to side - if you still want to keep the tyre again protect it with an old bit of inner tube or something..
And stop using that super glue, it might smell nice but see what a mess its got you in nowEvery time I go out, I think I'm being checked out, faceless people watching on a TV screen.....0 -

Ha, ha, no, it's definitely Stans. Ah, Mole Grips! Damn, now what didn't I think of that. They're usually my first port of call for anything that's reluctant to shift. Right, let's try again...All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Well, that didn't work. It just squished the tyre in the middle but didn't pull the bead away from the rim. I'm tempted to just chop the damn thing up and get another one! Aaarrrggggg! All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Finally! Watched this video...

It was way harder than in the video (I almost gave up) but eventually it worked. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Did you try swearing?
Oh yes, I tried several variations of that, but even the strongest version didn't work. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Is it an old tyre ?
In which case its probably gone deaf...
Next time try using sign language or some sort of hand gesture...Every time I go out, I think I'm being checked out, faceless people watching on a TV screen.....0 -

My thumbs were aching too much to do hand signals!
I'd been trying the day before and then I couldn't figure out why my thumbs were aching and stiff. Until I remembered what I'd been doing the day before I though that, perhaps, rheumatism was setting in. It's only when I went back to the wheel for another go that the penny dropped. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.
