Bike Arrived this morning in a large box
weights in at 30.4lb with his current prdals and comes with 9mm font and 10mm rear bolt through. hubs are rebranded novatech so I could swap the rear axle over to the switch ultra hub.
The fork is a ton weight at 2150g with the SID at 1460g its a big chunk of weight removed.
With his old parts swapped over bike now weights a more respectable 25.85lb with pedals0 -
The Ripcord is the 24" wheel job isn't it?Trail fun - Transition Bandit

Looks quite nice, not too sure on the green grips or the brake track in the rim, but I guess with 24" rims you are kind of limited.0

all the green is from his previous bike. grips are quite new and the cost to replace all the green is just to great. I might change the pedals though, I think thats a bit too much and they are cheap enough to replace.0 -

That's fair enough then. I like most of it apart from the grips and pedals, maybe it's because they are slightly different shades of green.
Looks a fun build nevertheless!0 -

Nice! Kid's got some skills!
When did comrie build a skills park? I'm sure it wasn't there last summer. Awesome little trail centre though, way exceeded my expectations.0 -

I was thinking when i first saw it built
"That looks like a kid's bike"
Then it turned out to be a kid's bike

building up lewis some new wheels. His current ones superstar switch evo, sapim DB spokes, brass nipples and alex ace2- rims are ok but the rims are a bit narrow and not tubeless ready so the tyres don't snap onto the bead. They are 1700g which is a saving of 500g on the original blast and 300g on the OE ripcord ones I wanted to get lighter ones so a pair of stans crest rims and novatec 711/712 hubs have been purchased. The rims are 320g while the hubs save around 80-90g on the 811/812 that the switch evo are. Probably going to go with sapim CX-ray and alu nipples for a dub 1400g pair.

Got the crest's built up. went with standard DT DB spokes and brass nips (1475g). saving a few extra grams wasn't going to be cost effective. also fitted easton haven stem and black spacers. Black expander on order too. weight is 26.76lb with reverb.

Even with the debonair can, there isn't enough small bump sensitivity with the monarch R even in the LL tune. I can get the shock tuned but after speaking to TFtuned I'll be investing in a better shock and getting that tuned. Will be getting a RT3 unit after easter. Also had a chat to transition and have bought a 120mm airshaft for his sids. Will get that swapped tomorrow.
