Hi Guys n Girls

I have a topeak race rocket pump and encountered a problem in that when I unscew the pump from the valve it takes the valve core out if that makes sense, causing all the air to come out. I'm after a mini pump that will fit into my back pocket and won't cause this problem? Any ideas?

I've had that happen to me a couple of times using a Lezyne road pump. I suspect the problem is with your tube valve, not the pump. I tried securely fixing the valve when it happened to me without success - chucked it and fitted a new tube. Rarely happens, but most unwelcome when it does, hence I always carry 2 spare tubes.

Yes, make sure your valve cores are tightly screwed-in and you'll never encounter this problem. Accept the notion that you'll struggle to get much beyond 60psi with any pump that fits in your pocket unless you're blessed with the forearms of Popeye and your ride companions the patience of a saint!
