Hi,

In September I'll be completing the Lon Las route from Holyhead on Angelsey to Cardiff Bay. I don't have a Garmin so will be relying on my iPhone (with a power bank) with a mapping app to navigate where needed. I've already created a route on Map My Ride but was wondering if anyone could recommend any alternative apps?

Could you hire a garmin for the journey? Save you having to worry? If you get a 1000 - on the date just tell it you want to travel 50 miles for example and it will give you routes to follow.

Great idea but i've already bought a waterproof case and mount for my phone so would prefer to avoid any extra expense if I can.

    Use ridewithGPS.com

Best app with routing for iphone. Put your phone in your left jersey pocket and one headphone in your left ear. It will give you turn by turn directions.

ridewithGPS is usually a paid thing, but if you sign up a few days before I think you get a week of free 'premium' membership so you'll have turn by turn navigation.

Used ride with gps for London to Paris app on my iPhone. 2.99 for 7 days, downloaded maps and used turn by turn directions. Excellent.
