Just starting out...

Hi All,
I am just starting out in the sport and the forum!
I've recently just got into the sport and bought a Cannondale trail 6. After a few rides I noticed a lot of slipping on the pedals so decided to upgrade those and after a few reviews and a couple more technical rides decided the forks were utter rubbish. (Suntour XCT) - I've just upgraded those to some RockShox Reba Rl's, which I picked up second hand in mint condition at a really reasonable price...
My question is about other upgrades vs. saving for a new bike. Is it really worth upgrading anything else that might limit my learning to ride it or routes I am tackling?
I can see a few topics and people talking about this with regard to saving for a new one, but I am hoping this current setup will last for a while and I don't have major plans for riding anything more extreme at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There's nothing wrong with what you've got.
Just replace with better bits when things break or wear out.0 -
Just carry on riding and see how you get on now. You will always want just one more upgrade / new bike.0
