Hi,
On my ride earlier today, i started to think about upgrading my bike. It's a 2013 giant defy 1, completely unmodified. When i got back i did some looking and decided that i want to upgrade my wheels to the mavic cosmic elite s wheels. That got me thinking if i could upgrade my cassette from a 10 speed to an 11 speed one. Would i have to upgrade anything else to make the jump to 11 speed as well?
Thanks in advance!

Yes you would need to change the RH STI, RD, 11sp cassette and chain. The 10sp FD may or may not work, however IMO you would be better buying a complete 5800 groupset if you want to stay with 105 or 6800 if you want to upgrade to ultegra. That way you get the chaintset and brakes as well as the transmission components.

get some nice wheels and maybe upgrade to 11 speed when your 10 speed has worn out0

Upgrade your wheels, that will make a big difference.
However going from 10 to 11 speed won't make a massive difference. But then again 105 11 speed is going for a good price these days.0 -
Thanks for the advice guys!!0
