Rear derailleur cable housing

Hi,
The grey cable housing that runs from behind my hangar to the rear derailleur has been damaged, but I can't seem to find exactly what I need online. The cable is 30mm long x 4mm diameter, with these metal plugs at each end. But bike stores only seem to sell the cables in meters, and the metals plugs by the dozen - which is quite pricey.
Are there no cable kits just for the rear derailleurs?

One option here for the outer cable.

and the ferrules can be bought here:-

However I'm sure if you talk nicely to your LBS they will cut you a suitable length from their stock and throw in some ferrules for a few pence extra.
Remember if you but your own outers you need a decent set of cable cutters to trim it to the correct length. Probably not worth the expense if you only have one bit of outer to cut. So LBS is your friend in this instance.0 -

No there are no kits as such as that loop of outer cable will have been custom cut to length when the bike was assembled.
If you don't own a set of decent cable cutters, take the original length of cable to your LBS and ask them to cut you a new length to size. You can reuse your metal ferrules if you can remove them without damaging them, otherwise just buy a couple of new ones, I'm sure your LBS will sell you a couple with the new cable.0
