SRAM red (10 ) chain ring.

Hi there I need some rice on my 2007 SRAM Red chain set please. I have 53/39 on it and I need to get 50/34 or 52/36. Does anyone know if I can do it with just chain rings or will I need a new chain set?

you'd need a new chainset, the cranks you have are 130bcd, to fit compact rings you'd need the 110bcd one

other options to consider...

if it's sram red throughout, you could fit a 11-28 cassette to get lower gearing

on a 130bcd you could fit 52/38 chainrings, not a huge difference vs. 39t but it's an option

39/28 is about 2.4% harder gearing than 34/25
38/28 is the same gearing as 34/25
