The IDEAL bike commute distance

Where in the Cotswolds you'll be working?
Malmesbury - so I've reckoned Chippenham, Castle Combe, Royal Wootten Bassett, Tetbury would be within range (as examples) and Stroud, Swindon etc too far. I'd actually like to be rural (broadband allowing)
That's close to where I am. Some very nice quiet routes all around Malmesbury, and lovely rural hamlets to consider (places like Oaksey and Charlton are very nice, leading up to the Cotswold Water Park). Bigger villages like Brinkworth (apparently the longest village in the UK?!) also worth a look, and close to Malmesbury. You could have a dream cycling commute on the cards....
Shout if you need any pointers
Cool - that's great - yes, any advice would be really useful. It's an area of the world I don't know well other than racing at Castle CombeROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

We do Combe on bikes too - Summer Race series (which has just finished) and Easter Classic (https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/124592/Castle-Combe-Easter-Classic).
I'm based in Tetbury .. I know there's a number of cyclists that do early morning loops from Malmesbury. There's ride outs from the Tetbury Bike\Coffee shop Veloton on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. A Chain gang rides out of Chippenham one evening a week. There's 10\25 mile TTs over in Latton, near Yate and on the A38 on weekday evenings.
Personally I prefer the roads out west towards the five valleys (Nailsworth, Stroud, Minch, Painswick) and North of Cirencester than the flatter roads east of Malmesbury.0
