27.5" road tyres?

I used to have a set of 1.75" slick tyres for my old 26" wheel MTB so I could put in some miles on the road - cheaper than buying another bike!
Since moving to a 27.5" bike though, I can't seem to find any.
Do they/will they exist?

...does that not mean you've just bought another bike...?...take your pickelf on your holibobs....
jeez :roll:0 -
It does indeed - the 26" was too small for me so I sold it.
I'd rather have an MTB I can use on the road from time to time, than a road bike I can only use on the road.Something...0 -
Looks like there's a few fast rolling options out there that would probably be ok to live with on the road

Plenty of other XC tyres with fast rolling tread too.Stumpjumper FSR Comp 650B http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13032340

Nice one, cheers - the Schwalbe Big Ben looks like the one for the job.
I've got SRAM Roam 50 wheels on my new bike, 21mm internal/26mm external diameter - any idea if these will be ok?Something...0 -
Most tyres up to 2.3/2.4 width should be fine with 21mm internal.Stumpjumper FSR Comp 650B http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13032340

They won't be too narrow though is what I meant, might struggle to get them on to begin with!Something...0

How narrow do you want to go, you could get 650B road tyres.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Personally, I would stick around 1.5-2.0 for a MTB. I don't see the point in buying a 650b mountain bike and trying to turn it into a road bike. You can compromise so far before it's not fit for both purposes.
Depending on how far you plan to ride on the road, I would just buy some fast rolling/shallow tread XC tyres. Out of curiosity, what is the make/model of the bike?
My current work bike is built around an On One Inbred 26er frame with Schwalbe City Jet 1.9 tyres. Eventually, I'm stripping it down and turning it into my XC bike. I only live about 1.3 miles away from work so I'll still use this bike for commuting, but I'll also use it for local rides (Got the Stumpy for trail stuff).Stumpjumper FSR Comp 650B http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13032340

I'm not trying to turn it into a roadie as such, I just want something that rolls better when I'm doing a few miles on the hilly roads around where I live. It's a Canyon Spectral AL, so will probs look a bit odd with skinny tyres on - but the 2.4" knobblies don't half drag when I ride it on the road so I think 1.75/2" low-pros will be fine.
My only worry was getting a narrower tyre onto the rims at all, but if you think it'll take them I'll crack on.Something...0
