Starter bike

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a lightweight women's or unisex MTB for me. I did a little mountain biking when younger but now do mostly road on my road bike. I am not going to be doing anything tricky but I would like something not too expensive, that is light, and that would be great in woods and cross country for me to do more cycling with my kids. Any recommendations gratefully received! Around the £300-350 price point would be fab. There seems so much choice I am feeling a bit bamboozled...! :?
